Looking for potential western reunion?

Galactivation Message Board: Chapel Hill's Discussion Forum (private): Looking for potential western reunion?

Planning a western tour this summer for a few weeks with my melodious mister. Telluride from June 15-18 for a slice of Bluegrass bliss. Looking for dates for the Rainbow Gathering in Montana. Would also like to know of other potential reunions with any (or all) of you.

Currently I'm found in the Thrill teaching gymnastics and working for hometownrent.com, Andrew Gray's internet baby. Living on a ranch in the guest cabin. We board horses, raise chickens, and cultivate the most bountiful garden I've ever worked on. It's enormous and we feed most of our neighbors in exchange for the work they put in. It's a wonderful life here. Blue skies, sundresses, cool breezes, fresh tomatoes, smiling faces--spring time is the best in Carolina.

Just returned from MerleFest in North Wilkesboro. A great weekend with the Super One--our first roadtrip. Great music (Laura Love is my hero--not to mention the all-time pickin' legends Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Doc Watson, Tony Rice, Peter Rowan...) in the beautiful Appalachian mountains. I think it's a tradition I'll continue.

Excited about planning this summer's adventure--but we're waiting a week or so to hear from anyone who will be out that way. Let us know where you'll go! or

Love, hugs, sparkles, and kisses--
Sending pura vida to your corner--
KoriBrett

Getting real and realer and realnessas i scroll down deeper into the adventures of this list from frisco, the computer capital of the world. i read a billboard the other day that told me i could forget about manifesting changes in my real life if i had not made it to the gym in three months or not had a date or finished that long term house project, and instead i could begin a virtual life where no one would know otherwise. this is disturbing to say the least. WELL, as Brendon so eloquently brought up several messages ago, i am feeling the void, missing la familia, and hoping to connect sometime soon. I keep on hearing of love , light, sunshine and rainbows, and the cosmos, adventures, sweet fruits, new plans, and heavenly music, BUtttttt i never hear of the clouds, the rains, the confusion, the hard lessons (that is minus the monsoon like rains that carey, rob,and jeff are building an ark for). I feel the dark clouds, the mystery that lies behind them on the otherside. Being in this space is confusing, i feel disoriented, i think i need some familial guidance on this soul search. One of the many questions in this barage of getting REAL is what do you do when you feel lost. i have alrealdy consulted my inner child and she has no idea, she still wants to play make believe, build a fort and make unedible poison berry pies all day. however, this is REAL and i need to live and eat and dream and create on a real level. so i am asking you all, because you posess infinite wisdom. many of you may be experiencing a similar malaisse although you never speak of it on the galactivator. maybe it has propelled you to leave, to travel, to find a serious JOB, to sit in a desert for three days with you and only you, to cry, to laugh, to learn more and m,ore and more. who knows, because it is all so hush hush hush ity hushedfrom this cybercubicle. i hear many people saying, WE, are our strength, Together, we can make change where alone, overburdened, apathy may ensue. So,i am sharing these feelings, not to create a communal confusion , but so that we may make each other stronger by forging this dissonance together. stirring questions, whirling questions, more questions. Dizzying damsel done! i apologize if the realness was to real, to harsh, not fruity enough. Don't worry, alas things here are good in the little picture. i am working at a health food store in the produce department learning alot about organics and fruits and veggies. Stearing clear of the financial district, but sometimes paying the price. Just went to the redwwoods camping in absolute enchantment of the humongous fairie rings floating like bubbles through the forests. taking lots of pictures, freee-lance on the weekends, and looking for some models for various ideas. loving the ocean as i ride my bike through the lushness of the golden gate to spill out into the waves of ocean beach. fraternizing with real hippie folk on hippy hill in the park on the weekends for drumming and dancing and wondering where my friends are because it seems everywhere i look that there are places nestled among the dirty blankets, orange peels, stinky shoes, and woven bags for all of you. i miss and love you all and keep on hearing of westward adventure, road trips, would like to partake or rather would like to create. Oh, my address and number are 1588 Hayes st. Apt #1 San Francisco, CA 94117 (415)563-2829 for now. get back at me with some wisdom so we may continue to build from the foundation to the sky. yours in the journey, amitya

yes yes, i hear it i feel it i live it everyday when strangers, friends, family turn to me and say 'and exactly how do you plan to do that' and all i can say is i believe. i read a quote the other day that said that the universe rearranges itself to allign with your version of reality, and i believe it. i decide what i want to do, i make those inedible poisionous berry pies, and the spirit somehow shifts everything so that what i need falls into place. not that its all peaches and roses, those shifts arent always pleasant, but i'll say it again and again, dont give in, what they tell you wrong, you do not have to change your views, your lifestyles, your reality council to fit. yeah yeah, you need to eat and all that jazz, but when you truly do what you love you can make it work. its amazing the things people will pay money for, go to alaska and housesit a dozen sled dogs during the summer, work on a farm, balance shopping carts and washer/dryers on your chin, sail a boat to caribbean islands, sell freshly picked cherries out the back of your van, lead folks through the mountains, or down rivers, build drums, or bollaphones, or treehouses for little people, inspire... shit, mckenna eats mushrooms and talks about it and he's stylin. all those people who try to convince you otherwise, turn it around. convince them otherwise. its all about sacrifices. are you willing to sacrifice the posh lifestyle to wake up every morning inspired and excited at another glorious day? i read my words and i feel like a public service announcement. so i'll cut it short. live the life you imagine, the struggle is worth the bliss. i actually came on here to say yes! i am once again free, on the road, where no sunrise finds me where each sunset left me... heading to those soulshine folks in n.c., then up and over (count me in andrew) rainbowstyle, and out to those western beauties, spreading the word, the love, the inspiration sprinlked out, working that hundredth monkey till we All can live our soulshine. (and yes, figuring out every step of the way how to eat, dance, and fill the car with gas, while still upholding my truths, adding to the higher vibrations) and in the words of a lovely lady in a sacred circle moment of inspiration, step into the arms of the universe and you will be embraced.

i think that amity has really opened up a great discussion point- that it is nice to post messages about how wonderful everyone's doing, but is anyone struggling out there? is anyone confused, even lost? anyone lonely? well, i have to assure amity that she is certainly not the only one and amidst everyone's journeys and routine 9-5 days, there are surely moments of doubt peaking their noses into things. I almost write 'unwelcome moments', but i truly believe that we must welcome these moments so that we can continue to learn what directions to turn ourselves. and do continue to question all that is out there, all that we do, but not to the point where we're simply cheesecloth wandering, unable to absorb or hold anything in. you'll look back in a couple of years and see that these times were necessary for you to figure out where you needed to go in your life. only with some rough carving away does the beautiful form in the wood emerge. and one more thing- whether you find that your life will be one of travels or perhaps more sedentary, there is something out there just for you. and it might mean becoming a financial consultant, a teacher, a n herbalist, a politician, but you better believe in that special thing no matter how crazy it may seem. there. i've shared my thoughts. looking forward to hearing from y'all out in space. by the way, i'm in Chapel Hill, been here for the past 9 months (holy shit), work at a non-profit women's reproductive health org., working on programs in S. Afr. and Nigeria. I'm planning on applying for grad school (holy shit) in winter to study Islamic art (what?) history. anyway, jen- and anyone else- give me a call when here @ 919-932-4875. many hugs going out to all. only love, yael

Wow! It's been a while seen I've galactivated and I'm glad to see traffic picking up. I was so happy to see all of you in town, however brief it was, and I'm glad we got to spend some time together. I may be finally ready to leave the Hill and head for more active pastures. I'm headed to D.C. for the month of June, to train with a more functional socialist branch there, and 4 days at Socialist Summer School in Chicago june 8-11. Then I'm strongly considering a move down to Atlanta, you know, a real city. There's already a solid branch there, and I'm just frustrated with the kids in Chapel Hill. There's not a strong enough dose of reality here for me anymore. Maybe it's because all of you have gone out and pursued your dreams where the action already is, and I've tried (in vain) for 3 years to build a stable socialist presence here, but I think I'm giving in and moving on.
But we will all survive. That's the message i felt we always drew from each other, that we'll make it and not have to give up on our ideals, even if it means a lot of hard work and sacrifice, or just not really knowing where you'll be tomorrow night much less in a year. Stick to your guns, do what you wanna do, or you'll regret it later. There's time a-plenty to catch up with the things you missed. Act now, debate it in your head afterwards.
i hope to see some of you on your travels in the next few months here on the Hill. hopefully one day the revolutionary movement will grow big enough to carry me out west or the Caribbean or Africa, but for now, i'm staying on the east coast. Come visit if yr in the area...
