greetings from the east and hope this finds you well.my days here in inda continue to be challenging, inspiring, and free.right now, we are in the midst of twelve days of ceremonies marking my dad's brothers journey to the other life.it truly is incredible being here now, seeing the way that a family comes together.for days, my papa was suffering and for days, all would show up within minutes chanting hari om, ram, ram-bringing him back to this world so all can catch a glimpse.when we finally set him free, 300 people must have come from near and far to pay their respects and share their peace.there is no sense that he was only my brothers cousins wife son twice removed...to everyone, he was a brother, son, and father.how blessed i feel to be a part of such a loving family in which i am everyones sister, daughter, and mother.in a few days, we will journey north to haridwar and deposit his bones in the ganges...
my grandmother is still raging at 100, waking up at 4 each morning and dancing all night.she has weekly gatherings here for the women where they sing, dance, and give thanks for life.the goddess appears in all her beauty and grace.a true inspiration to all those who meet her.
other than that, eating lots of mangos and taking it all in...hope life is light.love and blessings to all.
om, *reena
